The sun made only an occasional appearance during the week, so much time was spent on the porch. The first sketch is of my daughter working on a puzzle on the porch, drawn with Inktense pencils on pastelbord. The second is my son reading on the porch done with colored pencil on paper. The third is the porch from outside drawn with pastel pencils on pastelbord.
The first is with sepia ink on Claybord. The second is a scratchboard. I drew this while sitting in my canoe. The day I started it was just after a couple of days of rain. I managed to wedge my canoe onto some submerged rocks off a point of land so that I didn’t float around when trying to draw. When I returned two days later the water level had dropped a good 8 inches and my rocks were now well above the surface of the lake. I still managed to lift the canoe up on them so I could continue from the same vantage point. I did all the drawing while sitting in the canoe but added the color and did some fine tuning back in my studio.
